The Kuperus Family had been farming for many generations in the Netherlandsbefore moving to the USA. After immigrating here in 1948, they continued farming with a Christian work ethic that was passed on through the generations.

In 1979, KUPERUS FARMSIDE GARDENS was established on the family dairy farm. The first crops of spring annual and vegetable plants, groundcover shrubs and poinsettias were grown and sold in front of the milking barn. The garden center and nursery continued to expand to ultimately surround the dairy barn. The last milking and transition to only ornamental crops occurred in 2000.

The Florist opened in 1988 providing customers with creative floral arrangements and fresh flowers. The motto ‘Designed from the Heart’ was the guiding principal adopted for all the arrangements and products made by the design team. Now, Farmside’s Florist is able to accept and send flowers worldwide through Teleflora and FTD florist services.

Farmside’s floral designers are especially noted for their resourcefulness in providing unique wedding bouquets and arrangements that are focused on meeting the expectations of the bride on her special day. By incorporating farm grown seasonal flowers for big summer and fall color, herbs for fragrance or foliage to frame the event—even floral collars for pets—anything can work for planning on that special day.
